Advising

I work with university leaders, boards, and planning groups on questions of institutional identity, strategy, and governance: what an institution is for, who it serves, and how its structures and evidence should reflect those commitments. This work draws directly on my scholarship on how universities build durable identities, and on a decade inside institutional decision-making — advising leadership at 35 colleges and universities through COFHE, designing shared-governance structures at Harvard, and leading strategic analysis for university planning.

Recent engagements have included comparative benchmarking for senior leadership, governance design, and translating institutional history into strategic self-understanding for planning processes.
